As the key events during World Expo 2010, World Expo Parade yesterday first staged in expo site.
The World Expo Parade officially announced 920 performances in 184 days and, this will be the largest and longest parade activity in World Expo history. Official news, 3 teams will involve in and 5 parades every day, the performances will be staged in Pudong and Puxi area.
Parade performers dance while tour the Expo site yesterday. Parades in Expo Shanghai are designed to show the mix of various cultures to the world.
The parade route in Pudong was 1.8-kilometres-long and consists 200 actors, it will perform twice a day (3pm and 9pm) for 75 minutes each. Another team would start its performance at 12pm and last about 1 hour.
The 800 metres long parade route in Puxi area is aiming at presenting the idea of innovation for future, the parade will tour at 5pm and 8pm every day (The exact time will change according to the weather.)
To date, more than 10 countries have expressed their intention to join the parades.
